Transcript of Speech: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/24/sotn.obama.transcript/
Comrades, friends and foes alike:
I will briefly post short portions of the transcript and interpret:
(a) "If you haven't been personally affected by this recession"
comment: we are in a depression, or at least beginning to feel the pressure of one
(b) "But while our economy may be weakened"
comment: weakened is a very soft term, "intense hemorrhaging" provides a better picture of the state of our economy
(c) "and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before."
comment: it is very doubtful that the USA will emerge as strong as in post WWII / 1945 ... as we've declined in our power since
that time - note that the USA has not been outrightly victorious in any other war (e.g. Korea or Vietnam)
(d) "the weight of this crisis will not determine the destiny of this nation"
comment - no one ever said the USA would last forever - and yes, the weight of this crisis continues to determine our lives each day.
(e) "The answers to our problems don't lie beyond our reach. They exist in our laboratories and our universities, in our fields and our factories, in the imaginations of our entrepreneurs and the pride of the hardest-working people on Earth."
comment - What exactly is Barry O smoking? The hardest working people on earth? in our factories? The USA is a post-industrialized service economy. Few factories exist. And, quite frankly, $$ allotted to universities that believe their 'business schools' are most important, continue to facilitate the problem. (note WCU and its partnership with BB&T to study the moral fiber of capitalism - source: http://www.wcu.edu/11588.asp
(f) "those qualities that have made America the greatest force of progress and prosperity in human history"
comment: I think Barry O needs to read some works by Eugene Debs - prosperity? source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Poverty_59_to_05.png
(g) "our survival depends on finding new sources of energy"
comment: Long overdue - finding new sources will deplete the energy the US already imports - at Catch 22 I think
(h) "energy, health care, and education that will grow our economy"
comment: In economics, "economic growth" or "economic growth theory" typically refers to growth of potential output, i.e., production at "full employment," - hint hint .... what does USA produce?
(i) "the flow of credit is the lifeblood of our economy"
comment: this disgusts me! .... here is capitalism at its worst. One scenario, FORD builds a car ... the car goes to the dealer, who then sells the car for more than its worth to a buyer who's borrowed $$ to purchase the car ...on credit. The problem here is ... the buyer drives off the lot, and wham! ... the car devalues instantly. And, therefore, the buyer (not owner) pays back the loan with interest for a car that devalues from day one. Who then profits? Ford, no. the Seller, no. the Buyer of the car, no. Yes, the one who owns the loan! Flow of credit is the lifeblood, indeed.
I could go on and on ... but obviously ... even the best of the Leftists in this country fail to see that the system is corrupt.
And, this Stimulus Act, now Law, will throw money away into sectors of this economy that have already dried up the $700 billion given away in late 2008. My friends, the real solution is not tax cuts, it is not jacking up millions of foreclosures with taxpayers $$ ... or nationalizing the banks? take banks over, clean them up, and sell them in rapid order to the private sector? Who profits from this?
Mismanagement of our Economy by Politicians ... not economists, ... and by Wall Street swindlers ...
has brought the USA to its knees, and I feel certain that to even get up off one knee will take a generation or more
to manage!

Does Anyone remember this?
Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23143814
Friends and Comrades,
Does anyone remember the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008? This act, signed by former President Bush, was seen as, and I quote, "a booster shot for our economy" to stave off a recession.
Stave off is defined as: to prevent something from happening, to avert, to debar
Recently, President Barry Obama signed into law - his new plan to stave off "depression" with an estimated $800 Billion! This plan thus calls for investments in health care, education, infrastructure and you name it, energy.
Friends ... the great Viennese economist Joseph Schumpeter once said, "economic progress, in capitalist society, means turmoil." His concept "creative destruction" continues to rack my reeling brain! Let us consider progress as our objective. Let us consider that with progress, some things must be left behind. Therefore, with creative destruction, new methods will arise, e.g. in technology, innovation, organization, mass transportation, all sorts of human and intercultural communication, marketing strategies, new sources of labor and raw materials, and most importantly, new products (nothing utterly necessary) that we consume.
Does any one really need a plasma TV? No. Therefore, it is an utterly unnecessary product.
It is my view that the Obama government take neither consideration on the matter of creative destruction nor the Kondratieff Theory:

It is thus true that new innovations in our technology destroys former technologies. And, my dear friends, Barry Obama's 800 billion dollar stimulus will booster the infrastructure, but I doubt it will create millions of jobs, or even stabilize the home mortgage crisis.
Is not Barry's plan just another so-called Booster Shot in the arm of America? Let's hope that within this socialized syringe, America will get a profound dose of revolutionary and spiritual rejuvenation that will stand in defiance of the cultural materialism and shallowness of our age.
